When excavating for a basement or foundation, compacting, or water compacting, you need to ensure the appropriate equipment is being used to establish the base for a home. We use state of the art laser levels and grade controls systems installed in our equipment to ensure our grade depths are accurate for the foundation.

Culvert Installations

If you are installing a culvert for a new home, adding an additional culvert for a 2nd driveway, or replacing a damaged culvert, our team understands the importance of installing a culvert on the correct flow line and bedding it properly so settling doesn’t occur.

Grading

Grading and sloping are necessary for establishing how water drains off a property. We work with surveyors and laser levels to direct the flow of water away from the house. We utilize a tilt tach bucket for our skid steer to dig swales and berms or use our backhoe if you require a larger swale.

Lift Station Retrofitting

The regulations for lift stations and pump stations have changed over the years to better protect the wiring associated with the pump and alarm. If your system was installed before 2014, it’s more than likely not up to county regulations and will require updates. Whether it’s a concrete riser or a polyethylene riser, we have the tools and material to make the appropriate changes to bring your system up to code.

Soil Test Pits

If you are building a new home or replacing a septic system, soil test pits are required for the design of the foundation or septic system. The test pits are excavated to determine the geology and the water table. By determining the the content of the soil and whether or not there is a high water table, the engineer will have the information needed to design the foundation/system that will meet your building’s needs.

Septic system pumps, like most mechanical equipment, will eventually fail. We have found septic pumps have a lifespan of 10-14 years. When your septic alarm sounds, there is either an issue with your pump or a float switch that operates the pump. This will need to be addressed immediately to prevent backup into the house.

Tank Replacements

We have found some concrete tanks to deteriorate after a period time. After research into the matter we found that the deterioration of the concrete septic tank is typically caused by hydrogen sulfide gas. Most deterioration is caused by heavy garbage disposal usage. The food that breaks down inside the tank creates hydrogen sulfide. The combination of the gas and moisture causes deterioration in concrete tanks. Be cautious of how much you use your garbage disposal to
